Marvin Thompson

Marvin Thompson specializes in personal lines with an emphasis on customer service for our policyholders and each of their unique needs for their different life styles and property. Marvin’s P&C experience began in the early 1990’s after he graduated from Elon College in North Carolina and went to work for Enterprise Rent-a-Car where he assisted people renting cars provided by a car insurance company because of an accident. There he came to understand the problems and issues that people encounter when they are suddenly without a working vehicle due to an accident. In 1999 he began working at Virginia Commercial Finance where he gained understanding for commercial lending to small businesses in many different industries. His insurance experience expanded again in 2002 when he became an AFLAC supplemental health insurance agent, again dealing with the many different demands and needs of individual employees working in small to large businesses in all kinds of industries. In 2017 he became a P&C customer service representative for USAA through a third-party company, and in 2024, he joined Ashcraft Insurance Agency.

In his personal time, Marvin enjoys just being around his son and daughter both of whom are in their 20’s and he also enjoys participating in Swing and Latin dancing with his significant other.
